PCQHYA Presidents Message
April 4, 2023Welcome to a New Year! So many new beginnings for us as an association. First, I am the new President of PCQHA and I could not be more thrilled and honored to serve. I have incredibly big shoes to fill of past presidents, but I am confident with the support of the Board and members, I will be well equipped to take on the task for the next two years. We have already kicked off our new Buckle Bonanza program (more about the below), and will have more announcements regarding new programs and changes in the upcoming months.
We also have new Board members. Joining the Board are Marguerite McAfee and Megan Thorne. Both have been active PCQHA members and join us with great enthusiasm and new ideas. We are so excited to work with them and tap into their thinking about the Association and what we can do to continuously improve every member’s PCQHA experience.
Also, we have a new part-time office manager in our PCQHA office in Paso Robles, Julie Peters. Julie will assist the Board as well as the Association with various administrative functions such as membership, fielding questions, and certain financial tasks. Julie is herself a fellow equestrian and is very familiar with the AQHA show landscape. Welcome Julie!
Lastly, you may have already read about the new awards program established by PCQHA, the Buckle Bonanza. This program is new in 2023 and is already underway! It’s super easy to enroll in the program and BEAUTIFUL PCQHA Buckles are awarded at every participating PCQHA show. There is no waiting until the end of the year to see who qualified in a particular category. You can learn more by visiting, https://pcqha.com/temp/join/.
As we continue to return to horse shows in California post-COVID I look forward to seeing you and speaking with you and learning about your PCQHA experiences. Until then happy new year, have a great ride!
Kristine Brooks
PCQHA President, 2023-2025
